I absolutely adore the mix of the vintage and modern cottage style. I could spend hours scrolling through pinterest or flipping through interior design magazines featuring this gorgeous interior style. It’s a style we’re seeing more and more of, and I understand why. People are craving that nostalic, lived in feeling while still keeping it updated to the century we are living in. In this post I have compiled a wishlist of items that would fit right into a vintage modern cottage. Let’s dive in, shall we?

Vintage brass mirror
An antique brass mirror is a gorgeous piece of furniture that really fits into the vintage modern cottage style. Hang it above the fireplace, in the hallway or in the living room to elevate the look of the space. There are many options to choose from, but I personally love the look of the arched one pictured above. You can purchase it here. You could also look for one in local antique shops or on Facebook marketplace.
Throw pillows in gorgeous prints
Throw pillows are a great way to accessorize a space. For the vintage modern cottage look, plaid patterns look gorgeous. These pillow covers from Amazon look super cozy, and their neutral colours will blend perfectly with almost any other colour in the home.
Vintage wall lamp
Having multiple light sources in a room gives you the ability to adjust the mood of the space exactly how you like. Beautiful wall lamps add a touch of vintage charm while also creating that soft, warm glow in a room. The one pictured above can be purchased here.
I made a curated Pinterest board dedicated to vintage cottage lamps, so if you want some lamp inspiration, here it is:
Wooden cutting boards
For the kitchen, wooden cutting boards are both a beautiful thing to display AND a useful tool. Incorperating natural materials like wood is the way to go when going for the cottage style.
Scented Candles
Who doesn’t love a good scented candle? Candles are always on my wishlist. You can decorate with candles in pretty much any room of the house, and they give the space such a cozy mood when lighted. The WoodWick ones crackle when they burn, so they’re like a tiny fireplace. Can be purchased here.
Vintage art for a gallery wall
Beautiful vintage art in a mix of antique and modern picture frames is such a great idea for a cottage-style gallery wall. The best place to purchase these prints, in my opinion, is on Etsy. There are tons of designs to choose from. You can also find vintage and handmade photo frames on Etsy.
Candle holders
Candle holders look good in any home. I love these especially for table setting when hosting dinners, but they can also be diplayed on a dresser, a fireplace mantel, or wherever you like, really! Brass or black ones are classic and give you the possibility to use any colour candle.
